Year 5/6 AB

Welcome to Year 5/6 (AB)!

Our Class Teacher is Miss Bishop

Our Teaching Assistant is Mrs Wharton

We need our PE kit every Wednesday and Friday.

We need our reading record signed and brought into school every day.

Spellings and times table homework are due in every Friday.

In our class this half term we will begin to learn the recorder. We will begin to play this along to Make You Feel My Love by Bob Dylan.

We are almost finished our class novel Gangster Granny by David Walliams which the children have loved and laughed along to. Our next novel will be The Hobbit by J.R.R Tolkien.

For 20 minutes twice a week we have times table practice. Alongside this, we have handwriting practice three times a week.

Our topic this half term is Mayans. Children have been given a range of suggested homework activities to help with deepening their understanding and gaining more knowledge around this topic. Children must choose one activity to hand in as a homework project. Projects must be completed and handed in on or before Friday 23rd March. I look forward to seeing their creative ideas and giving out lots of dojos!

As SATs are quickly approaching the Year 6 children have booster sessions every Monday and Tuesday afternoon in school and every Tuesday and Thursday after school. Any extra practice at home will really help!
