Inside the Talk4Writing booklet below, you will find lots of activities to work through that will help with your writing skills and build on the work and writing scheme you do at school. This booklet is not designed to be completed in one go but rather over a couple of weeks.

Below is a list of which activities are to be completed on which days.

You can listen to an audio version of the story here https://soundcloud.com/talkforwriting/pippety

Monday – Read the story Pippety Skycap again to remind yourself. Can you retell the story to your adult at home? Read Pixie’s poem and solve her riddles. Draw/write what you would find in a giant’s pocket.

Tuesday – Look at Pixie’s letter and carry out her Rainbow Treasure Hunt (finding something in your house or garden for each colour) Write up what you found.

Wednesday – Sparkly Playdough Recipe. Can you fill the clouds with words to describe your playdough? Miss Bishop would love to see your sparkly playdough!

Thursday – Measure your family using Pixie’s family shapes. Find out who was longest/shortest/longer than/shorter than.

Friday – If I had wings: Read Pixie’s If I had wings poem. Write your own poem for what you would do if you had wings.
