Monday

Hello Reception,

We hope you have had a lovely weekend and are re-energised for the week ahead!  This week we will continue to learn about our story of the very hungry caterpillar.  Today we would like you to look at the pictures from the story and tell a grown up the story in your own words.  Can you remember who was in the story?  Can you name the days of the week and all the different types of food?  Can you retell the story in the correct sequence remembering the beginning, middle and end!

In Maths we would like you to continue using the resources on the White Rose website.  This week they are linked to the story What the ladybird heard.  Listen to the story by clicking on the link provided.

In our minibeast folder we will continue to add ideas for activities linked to our topic.  We hope you have fun trying them out.  As always keep in touch and stay safe.

Missing you all.

Retelling stories is an important part of learning to read and use language in Early Years.

Support your child to:

Speak in sentences - don't just name what is in the picture.

Use story language - days of the week, cocoon, types of food, In the light of the moon...

Sequence parts of the story correctly

Recognise the beginning, middle and end of the story
