Hello everyone,

We hope you have all had a weekend of fun!  Can't believe it is Monday again already.  We hope you are ready to complete some of this weeks learning activities.  Remember that these are only suggested activities and the most important thing is for you to be playing at home and staying happy.  We have loved seeing all the pictures that you are emailing in and it is helping all of us keep an extra big smile on our faces.  You are AMAZING reception class, we miss you lots!

Lots of love,

The Reception Team smiley

Listen carefully to the story about minibeasts.

At the end ask your child some of these questions:

  • What was the title of the story?
  • What is an author?
  • Who was in the story?  (How many minibeasts can your child name?)
  • Do you have a favourite minibeast?
  • Can you tell me about your favourite minibeast?

This week we are going to make a non fiction book about minibeasts.

Today you can make your front cover.

Fold an A4 piece of paper.  On the front page talk to your child about ideas for a title.

Ideas:  Minibeasts/ Creepy Crawlies/ All about bugs/ At the bottom of my garden/ Crazy about creatures.

Use your phonic skills to write a title for your book.

Draw a picture for your front cover.

Write the name of the author - Written by (Child's name).

Maths based on The very Hungry Caterpillar
