Thursday

Maths

Some of the topic activities this week are based on dragons (see our Topic folder on the previous page).

Below you will see the activity that suggests making up a dragon dance like those seen during the Chinese New Year celebrations. In the dance, you must do 20 dance movements. Wow!

Can you count to 20?

Can you count backwards from 20?

Write a number line from 0-20 and use this to help you.

We know that 10 and another 10 makes 20.

Can you think of any other ways to make 20?

Write them down as a number sentence e.g. 15+5=20

You may wish to use the tens grids seen below to help you.

Literacy

Look at the dragon dance instructions above.

Make up your own routine with 10 or 20 of your own dance movements.

Write your dance instructions like the example above.

Remember to use finger spaces and full stops!

Remember you can email us some photographs of the fantastic work you are doing and we can share them on our Twitter page with your permission :)
