Hello boys and girls.
We hope you enjoyed drawing your story maps yesterday and hope you were able to add some words to your map- remember, we are getting closer to being in Year 1 now so we need to be able to write some words and short sentences.
Today we would like you to have a go at another activity that helps you to remember the order of the story. It will also require you to retell the story again. At school we retell the story every day so that we can remember it well using all of the important story language so it is important that you do the same at home.
Use the template below to retell the main parts of the story in sequence.
What happened at the beginning/ middle/ end of the story?
You can draw pictures or use objects like the example above.
We would be super impressed if you can add words or even sentences to each box.
You may need to use a separate piece of paper to write your sentences- don't forget your capital letter, finger spaces and a full stop at the end!
Please make sure to email us any pictures or videos of your work- they really do make our day. If you would be happy for us to share your images on our Twitter page or website please confirm in your email. Thanks :)
Use the example below to practise your reading and comprehension skills.
Can you spot the correct missing word?
If you don't have a printer an adult can write out the sentences for you.
