We live, learn and grow in the light of Christ

Year 3

A warm welcome to Year 3.

Your teachers will be Mrs Slater Monday - Wednesday and Mrs Holmes Wednesday to Friday.

Our classroom assistant is Miss Gales.

PE will be on Mondays (Indoors) and Thursdays (Outdoors).

Children are expected to come to school wearing suitable PE clothes and shoes (A PE t-shirt, jumper or cardigan and jogging pants or leggings).

Spellings and times tables homework lists will be given out each half term. There will be 55 club (times tables) tests on Mondays and Tuesdays and a spelling test every Friday. Please make sure children attempt to practise their spellings and tables every day.

A digital copy of the homework can be found here.

Reading books

Reading books will be sent home weekly. When a child has read their reading book twice, they will take a short quiz and will then be given a new reading book. Reading books should be brought to school everyday.

Drop off and collection of children

Year 3 children will enter the school through the KS2 door. Doors will open at 8.45 and close at 9.00.

At home time (3.30pm) the children will line up by the hall stairs. Please wait on the KS2 yard until all the 3/4 classes are lined up on the yard.

Remote Learning (during lock down only)

Every school day, assignments and other additional materials will be uploaded to Google Classroom.  These will be, as much as possible, directly linked to the work the children who are still in school will be completing.

Remote Learning should take approximately 3 hours every day to complete. For more information on remote learning, including how to access Google Classroom click here.

If you have any questions or wish to speak to a class teacher, please contact Mrs Slater and Mrs Holmes on the phase email.
